My, how time flies...
May. 8th, 2017 07:36 pmThe big job for the day was to go to IAH in the early afternoon and pick up my sister-in-law Alla, whose flight (as it turned out) landed 45 minutes early.
As you can imagine, Galina and I spent quite a bit of time in the morning making our place look ever more Better-Homes-&-Gardens-y, which is to say, ever less like the place where we live. I have no complaints; it's all good, and those dust bunnies were starting to get uppity (just kidding).
There is a certain enjoyment I derive from standing at the doors leading from the ICE area at Arrivals as I watch people who are here greet folks coming out of those doors. I get a particular thrill when the scene turns emotional, as I begin to think that perhaps the happy reunion has been a long time coming, but it has finally come.
Eventually, my sister-in-law did walk through that door, and it was our turn to get emotional.

We grabbed a bit to eat at Pier 8 over in Kemah on the way home, and just about now, we're all settling in for the evening.
Work arrived in my inbox while I was at the airport, but it's no big deal. I can deal with it tomorrow.
What I have trouble dealing with is the overflow of blue ink that occurred while I was filling my Waterman 12, resulting in my looking as if I've received a hand transplant from a Smurf.
It's all good, though. I scrubbed most of the color off. :)
Cheers...
