Classification...
Nov. 4th, 2017 09:45 amI made notes on the index cards for the episodes (I don't know if I can call them "chapters") of my memoir. On Dreamwidth or LJ, I guess they'd be called "tags." The idea is to see a big picture of what all I wrote about.
I am pleased to learn that, by far, the largest group is "personal," i.e., no particular classification. These I might consider arranging in chronological order as a background to presenting things in general, but it's too early for me to tell if this will work or not.
The group "nasa/kazakhstan/space" is about the same size as "usmc" and "translation/interpretation." There follow, in roughly descending order: "chess," "ussr work," "magic," "travel," "borland," and "stars."
What will be challenging will be to figure out how to deal with items that fall into two or more categories, e.g., pointers to my piece on NASA virtual reality interpreter training live in both "nasa" and "interpretation."
Well, that's why I have index cards (I feel as if I'm back in junior high school).
Cheers...
