Getting back on the horse...

alexpgpIt's been one of those mornings.
The Routine Stuff™ brought with it a note about a job I did a couple of weeks ago, where an apparent fingerfehler on my part resulted in an incorrect number—an important incorrect number—to be sent to the editor, where—as it happened—the error was overlooked.
My bad, and while it's not an excuse, the fact is that stuff like this happens from time to time, although the better you work, the longer is the interval between those times.
Whereupon I proceeded to translate a short note that took about a minute of keyboard time, during which I managed to experience a mild case of brain flatulence, mistranslating the name of a Russian government ministry, the fact of which became known to me via email after I had sent the thing off.
With all this in mind, I had very little desire to send off the one remaining item on my plate. I kept reviewing and checking and checking and reviewing, but eventually, I did manage to get back in the saddle.
The immediate plate is clean. The next assignment, part of the Slow Work™, comes due Wednesday, but it's followed by a fairly large piece of Slow Work™, so I better not get complacent.
