Making headway...

alexpgpI saw Natalie and Kyle off at the Houston Port terminal, where the Norwegian Jade was waiting to take them on a cruise.
It was something of a strange moment for all of us, because originally, it had been Galina and I that had floated the idea of a cruise, yet in the end, we turn out to be the ones staying behind—Galina in New York, taking care of the house up there, and me here in Texas, trying to earn enough to mitigate the effects of a pretty thin couple of months.
I "slept in" this morning, arising at 5 am instead of 4:30. I let the kids go get breakfast without me, because (a) between the Mexican place on Thursday afternoon, the crawfish place on Thursday night, and the pub/restaurant from last night, my diet has gone completely and totally to aitch-ee-double-toothpicks, and (b) have I mentioned this really, really big job I'm working on, with the nasty deadline?
As far as I can tell, I am one day ahead of myself, but it's going to be very easy to lose those days starting Monday, so I'm going to have to duplicate today's 3,000-word effort tomorrow, which will put me about a day-and-a-half ahead of schedule.
Time to hit the rack. Big day tomorrow.
