I am beginning to live inside of memoQ, which is an application designed to aid translators in their work.

It seems I am always working in it, and despite the fact that I initially had reservations about the software (which might very well have been based on having to change the way I work), between the encouragement I got from [livejournal.com profile] velvet_granat (hey, you still around?) and the fact that it helps me get the work done... what can I say?

The other increasingly valuable app that I own is FineReader, because you know, <sarcasm>nothing says you really want a good translation than to provide the source document in a format that can only be grokked with an eyeball</sarcasm>. People who talk in glowing terms about "editable PDFs" have almost certainly never had to do any extensive editing inside of them.

Cheers...

Hello! I never got notifications from being tagged in LJ posts before, that's kinda cool :)

I'm still around, though not reading LJ very often. Skype and email are better. The uni workload is relentless, but steady, now that I've settled into the pace, it's not hard to stay on the ball.

The LJ communities I used to read fizzled out, and many people left as well... its great that you are writing so regularly though! I'm very impressed at your dedication.

Glad to hear that memoQ has grown on you. I'm still using it (though haven't upgraded for a few years). I even do En-Au localization jobs in it, it's just... handy!

Got time for a Skype chat soon?
