The "old" taiji format—before sifu moved the school—was basically three 90-minute sessions a week. The new format consists of 2-1/2 hour sessions twice a week.

Up until last night, I had "benched" myself only once, a couple of months ago, on account of fatigue, but was back on the floor after about 10 minutes.

Last night, I figured the same mechanism would work, but I was wrong. I was able to return to the session, but fizzled out again with about 20 minutes left to go. This time, I remained on the bench.

I am not going to try to analyze what happened, at least not here. There are too many variables. But I sure hope this is not a portent of what's to come on an everyday basis as time passes.

Today went reasonably well. The old place is mostly empty of junk. (The new place is mostly filled with it.) After just a little more work, the old place ought to be ready to be put on the market.

To see if it makes a difference in my everyday routine—not to mention I've never been to one—I'll be traveling to Dallas tomorrow for their annual September "pen show" with one of the fellows from the local pen club (whose skills and interests overlap mine so much, it's scary).

To tell the truth, I can well and truly use a change of scenery.

Time to get ready for some rack drill.

Cheers...

You know, 2 1/2 hours is a long time. Not everyone has the stamina for that, even when they're young and in the best of health.

I can't remember now whether your moving also involved a lot of downsizing, but if so... less stuff to move. I wonder if you'll get a better garden out of the bargain?

There is something to what you say.

In the end, I am not prepared to feel bad about Tuesday's result.

The move is a definite downsize. How this will affect gardening is still up in the air.

Cheers...
