I must have come up with a good half dozen themes for LJ entries during the course of the day, but they all escape me at the moment. I got past the troublesome part of TMP-3 soon after this morning's post and submitted the whole deal somewhere around 9:15 am or so, together with a pretty nice invoice.

I then went in to the store, where I pretty much spent the rest of the day. It was pretty busy today, too (thank goodness). I finally went home around 5:30 with some groceries and cooked dinner.

And here I am, trying to recall some of the Great Themes that crossed my mind while I was sorting the second-class mail.

Bupkis.

(So I guess they must not have been so great...)

The DSL modem arrived today. I expect the DSL router will get here the middle or end of next week, at which point I will be able to do at the store what I am doing at home: network several machines together to take advantage of the DSL bandwidth. and the ability to do file interchanges.

We'll also be able to get online with UPS and FedEx, which will help since both outfits are fixing to go hog-wild with new fees and escalations whose application is not exactly clear.

Now that the translation larder is empty, I'll have some time to concentrate on some of the other areas of my life, including reducing the clutter around here. In the meantime, however, I think I'll go upstairs and join Galina before the TV.

Cheers...

I always forget all those great ideas, too. So I try to write things down when I think of them. This sounds simple, yes? But noooooooooooooo....... I'm usually in a hurry, so when I go to read my notes, I CAN'T READ MY WRITING!! ;)

sorry to do an off-topic comment...
but i was reading an article i thought you might find interesting.
the November, 2001 issue of UK magazine 'the Wire' (issue 213)
has a long article on experimental musician Sergei Kuryokhin,
and the role of totalitarian politics in the avant-garde music of post-soviet russia.

unfortunately, it's a back issue now, but it takes months for this magazine to hit the newstands in my area.
