Done for the night...
Apr. 24th, 2002 09:03 pmAfter my last post, I decided to stop by the K-Mart down the street, as it is one of the stores slated to close as a result of that chain's financial difficulties. (That will leave the dismal Wal-Mart the victor on the other side of the street, which is abject testimony to the lack of justice in the world, but I digress...).
Anyway, as I approach the car, I notice my wallet lying on the ground just outside the driver's door. Everything was in it, but my heart gave a little jump when I realized what it was I found. Like most folks I need that stuff in there!
In any event, K-Mart was a disappointment. Most of the good stuff was gone, leaving mostly goods that have been handled and handled, to the point where it's difficult to figure out what's where (nobody's putting stuff back where it belongs). Add to that the rather modest price reductions, and I can't say the visit was worth the time, necessarily.
I returned home and did the assignment Lev had delivered to me at the MCC late today. I surprised myself by doing pretty much all of it - 2400 words - in a little short of 2 hours (I have a couple of abbreviations to look up, which I'll do tomorrow).
Time to just veg out, I guess... :^)
Cheers...
