The day was distinguished by its utter lack of distinguishing qualities.

I did get Drew started on putting in a shelf in "his" area that would serve as a desk, but the job remains undone, primarily because we had no power driver at the store.

I started making network cables, and actually made one, but that's as far as that job went.

We all made some progress sorting paper, filing the stuff we need and chucking the stuff we don't.

I drank entirely too much soda in the course of the day.

If I get ambitious, I may spend some time this weekend trying my hand at putting together some documentation for Terracotta.

As a fitting cap to the day, Lee and I watched Kung Pow: Enter the Fist, which was one of two VHS tapes we received at the store as a "sample" of titles we can buy to rent.

Save. Your. Money.

Basically, the people who put the movie together took footage from an old kung-fu flick (and I don't understand why Lee assumed it was a bad film of this kind) and then did some movie magic to replace the image of the original hero with that of the film's "star" and producer (if memory serves, and I'm not going to bother to verify this).

Everything is then edited, reedited, and dubbed to high heaven. The flick tries to be a caricature of every kung-fu movie ever made, I suppose (from the American point of view), and while there are groan-funny bits here and there ("We must be as quiet as a monkey inside a pinata.")... I cannot believe that people would pay money to see (or make) this film. Ye gods.

Cheers...

Half-asleep I read your post...

You said you watched Kung Pow: Fist of Fury with Lee...
That made me do a double-take. Then I woke up to decipher the funny marks on my computer screen and discovered I was reading your entry!

Funny how the mind works while on stand-by mode...

Fist of Fury?

I knew Kung Pow was a chicken dish of fury. Maybe it should have stayed that way!
