A quiet day...

One of the things we ought to offer in the store is a stable price for typing. I quoted some guy a rather cheap price for a 3-page job, but ended up eating some time when the job turned out to include some fairly complex tables.
I think I also need to not ask if the client wants the text to be edited... it's going to be edited and that's that. I compounded my pricing error by asking about editing, to which the client says, "No, I've got it all down the way I want it." I've got just two words for that:
Yeah. Ri-i-i-i-ight.
And two more:
Never. Again.
Otherwise, the day went fairly well. Galina and I suddenly decided to have lunch at JJ's, a restaurant that's located at the other end of town from us, on the river. The scenery was nice, the umbrellas were sparse (Galina sat in the shade while I braved the sun), the ice water was cold, and the menu was - as always - that strange tribe of food that tries to be trendy (Chicken with artichoke hearts, anyone? And you must try the tomato-and-basil soup!), but ends up being just adequate to the occasion. At any rate, we had a nice meal, and had fun watching the fisherfolk do their thing.
I didn't get a whole heck of a lot done today, which is not so good. Tomorrow, I've got a doctor appointment in the morning, after which Galina and I will travel down to Farmington and do some shopping. Hopefully, we'll be back early enough for me to put a dent in the approximately 11,000 words of translation that await my attention for the near future. I think I can confidently say I'm booked until at least Tuesday.
There was more rain today, in the afternoon, and I just saw a flash from beyond the venetian blinds in my office window (followed by a rumble some seconds later). The wetness is wilful. In any event, it's as good an excuse as any to go get some rest.
Cheers...
