At Radek's...

Although I would have loved to join Jim W., Vadim K., and Boris S. for dinner last night (for probably much the same kind of dinner as we enjoyed last year in Atlanta), I figured getting a couple of hours of road under my tires was pretty important. Having an opportunity to catch up with Radek, with whom I last spoke in Colorado Springs in 1996, was icing on the cake. (A place to lay my head for the night gratis was whipped cream on the icing.)

Radek is promoting the Atkins diet, saying it works for bim and it will work for me. He is currently whipping up bacon and eggs, one dose of which probably won't hurt whichever way I turn.

I should go join him in the kitchen and chat.

doesn't it raise your cholestoral significantly?

Actually, it's supposed to reduce cholesterol, and as chance would have it, I heard a radio report on how the AMA recently suggested that any of several diets would be indicated for people looking to improve their health; Atkins' diet was among them.
