Cautious optimism, and a checkpoint...

A cautious optimism is newly apparent in the flight loop chatter these past few minutes, as a result of what may be encouraging news from the station regarding The Slow Leak. If that sounds wishy-washy, it's intended to be.

Meanwhile, today is a good time to review how well, or poorly, I'm doing with regard to my resolutions. Grades are 1-5 (worst-best) with 0 denoting "not applicable" or "not yet."

Positive attitude: 4

Talk with wife: 4

Interact with kids: 2

Surprise someone: 3

Maintain friendships: 0

Exercise: 2

Healthy diet, etc.: 3

Vacation: 0

Spanish CDs: 5

Spanish conversation: 1

Crush enemies: 5

File paperwork: 0

Meticulous records: 3

Financial awareness: 3

Reduce debt: 2

Professional excellence: 4

Simplify possessions: 1

Serious reading: 0

I notice that the only "5" is "crush enemies." Would you care to expand? By the way, by replying you'll be able to increase your score on "maintain freindships." ;)

Well, on a whimsey, I included the following among my resolutions:

I crush my enemies, see them driven before me, and hear the lamentations of their women.

I figure I deserve a free ride on this one, for laughs. At any rate, it brings a wry smile to my face when I encounter it in the list.
