While I was gone, the store got a letter saying our annual postal audit was going to occur today, so I was up early and in the store doing my own audit to see where we are with respect to where we ought to be. I expect the postmaster will be here soon (actually, I'm thinking he's overdue).

I popped open one of Drew's "Red Bull" energy drinks while I was counting, and after the first sip, my nose snapped my mind back to our recently completed drive from Texas.

I could just about swear that the cloyingly sweet smell of the drink is identical to the smell of the rest room disinfectant being dispensed liberally in the men's room at a truck stop just short of Wichita Falls.

Then again, I could be wrong, but if so, then why did I react so sharply, so... instinctively?

Cheers...

Aromas are powerful sensory stimulators, and I believe that a component of our smellers is tied into the taste buds. You know how certain smells produce instantaneous saliva, both in people and in animals? It's something like that, I think.

Have a delicious audit!
