Push, push, push...

In planning the translation load for today through Tuesday, I forgot that I could expect to spend most of store hours today... well, at the store. (You know, it's funny... being at the store like that gives me an opportunity to spend time with Drew, which would probably not happen otherwise. This makes me happy. Now, if I could only get some other members of the family back up to Pagosa! But I digress...)
After returning from the store, I took a nap, puttered around, chased paper, and finally sat down to work around 5 pm. Although my plan from yesterday for divying up the 10,500 source words was to translate 3000 words today, tomorrow, and Monday, leaving enough to maybe keep me occupied for 2-3 hours on Tuesday morning, I really didn't expect to finish 3000 source words today, given my late start. However, once I got into the "flow" of the current document (everything you ever wanted to know... and more, about general shareholder meetings), it didn't take much pushing to get me to my goal. So now, I'm all caught up and posting to LJ.
I had decided to see how I'd react tomorrow to a one-day fast, but that was before I agreed to stop by Shannon's parents' place tomorrow at around 5 pm for a combination birthday (Drew on the 4th, Shannon on the 10th) and Mother's Day celebration. Oh, well, that doesn't mean I have to pig out, right?
Talking about fasts, I recall, back in the days of the Shuttle-Mir program, that one of the Russian acceptance test managers (whose name escapes me at the moment... one of a pair of brothers who worked their whole lives in the aerospace industry) was a dyed-in-the-wool devotee of fasting one day per week and had nothing but good things to say about the technique (though his colleagues had heard quite enough, thanks). To top it all off, the gentleman was in marvelous shape for a fellow his age living where he did.
Anyway, it's past time to go rest. It's late.
Cheers...
