While LiveJournal is easy enough to use via a Web-browser, there are still those annoying delays associated with The Way Things Are on the Internet. So, I decided to download the LoserJabber client for Linux to see what all the fuss was about.

The program turns out to be one of those programs that provides the needed functionality without a lot of bells and whistles. Very efficient and noticeably fast! I particularly like the ability to quickly call up and browse through previous entries.

On other fronts, there's no word back from ABCNews.com (which I'm sure surprises everyone). SecurityFocus published a rebuttal of the Moody piece, written by Ben Greenbaum, Director of Site Content (what a title!). In closing his piece, Greenbaum quotes Moody's closing line ("As Linux zealots are beginning to find out, it's a lot easier to masquerade as a better product than it is to go out and be one.") and adds:
"I agree with that statement, and I believe that the Linux community has done an admirable job in many ways on both counts. In closing, I propose to the security community and to Mr. Moody that what is true for products is sometimes true for journalists as well."
Ouch!

Cheers...
