alexpgp | A minor dilemma...

I called Moscow about 3 hours ago to make sure Galina got off okay. She did, so I suppose I should plan on being in Albuquerque this evening to pick her up. In passing, I had quite a nice conversation with my mother-in-law, who finally managed to move from Barnaul to the Big City™, and is experiencing all of the shock that such a move can bring (no friends, no places to go, nothing familiar, just a feeling - so far - of being a perpetual guest). I look forward to seeing her the next time I am in Moscow.

If I leave, say, at 2 pm I ought to get to Albuquerque around 6 pm - give or take - and I'll be able to enjoy the "adventure" of a new route. However, I'll have to then find something to do for about 4 hours before Galina's plane comes in.

I could read a book, or go to the airport and surf.

If I leave later, say around 6 pm, I'll get to Albuquerque in plenty of time to be at the airport, but it'll be dark by 6, and I really don't like driving in the dark.

I think I will risk boredom over safety.

In other news, today sure doesn't feel like Thanksgiving, but that's something of my own doing. Then again, does one really need a special day to give thanks?

On that note, I have yet to put the dishes in the washer and pack. If I'm going to be on the road at 2, I need to get cracking.
