I think of all the people about whose lives I've read, I've probably read the most about Benjamin Franklin. His name keeps popping up in front of my eyes from time to time like a welcome sight for sore eyes, and the more I learn about the man, the better feel I think I get for his genius, his humanity, and, indeed, his foibles.

If it were possible to share a dinner with one historical person, Ben Franklin would be my choice.

Cheers...

P.S. The subject refers to the fact that Franklin was born on January 6, 1706, before adoption of the Gregorian reform by Britain and the American colonies, which added 11 days to the calendar in 1752 and moved Franklin's birthday to the 17th.

Glory! Glory! Hallelluyah!

You can congratulate Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart also. He is younger - 250 - but... he makes my life funny, you see.
