Ready to hit the road...

My internals got me up at 5:30 this morning, and my dad got up at around 6:30. True to form, his first mention of leaving the house to drive 5 minutes to catch an 8:30 am train came at about 6:50.

Gotta love that.

Today's travels will take me through the Cincinnatti airport, and then home.

I can't wait.

I must confess to not having kept up regular contact with my dad during my mom's final months. I shall have to rectify that flaw in my character, as this shortcoming is not the first time I've manifested such behavior, and I will rectify it.

In the meantime, I'm waiting for a call from my job-due-today client, to make sure the delivery has been received, before I embark on the road home.

That sounds like my father. We took two cars to drive to my sister's wedding. Dad was up and ready to go at the crack of dawn, so he whisked my mother and brother out of the house. I left at the scheduled time with my grandmother and her sister. Two hours later, we rounded a bend on the interstate and pulled up behind a car going 10 miles under the speed limit. It was Dad.
