Charles Simonyi is the lastest "Space Flight Participant" to take off from Baikonur, headed for the International Space Station. Simonyi, together with the two Russian members of the ISS-15 crew, blasted off shortly after 12:30 pm Houston time for a nominal flight to orbit.
Given that Simonyi is a billionaire, the $20 million or so he forked over for the trip is about like me paying a couple of hundred dollars for an airline ticket to New York, except that there were a lot more strings attached to get his ride.
