I couldn't wrap my mind around settling down to do work yesterday, so I abandoned the effort and tried to relax. I figure between doing a little extra here and there and maybe pounding on the cable at full throttle on Monday, things are still under control.

The day's events made a token effort to disrupt my plans. I got a call in the morning from my dad, telling me that they were preparing to move him out of the hospital (yay!) to a rehabilitation facility down the road. I dropped what I was doing, got dressed, and went down to lend some moral support (thank goodness the hospital is about 10 minutes away).

I came back an hour later, napped, and got down to work again, whereupon, I got another (expected) call, telling me that he had been transferred to the new facility. I stopped by for another visit around 3:30 pm, at which point I had just hit the 2,000 source word mark for the day.

Upon returning, I took fed Shiloh and took her for a walk, and then settled down to finish the day's quota.

As of about 20 minutes ago, I've bagged 4400 words, which is just fine by me.

Time to go to sleep.

Cheers...

writer of words what do you write about?
or what is your speacialty genre in translating?

Is your dad doing better or do you have to wait till tomorrow
before they'l finally get around to fixing him?

The purple mush room in your icon-
does it have a name or do you call it Charley
and choose not to eat it

I'm just curious,
faun

faun,

If one goes by my LJ, then I mostly write about work, which is mostly technical.

My dad gets better, then he gets worse. And so it goes.

The mushroom in my icon was photographed when and where I found it, with a camera whose batteries were spent to the point where, if you didn't take a shot within about five seconds after turning it on, it'd shut down because of a low battery condition. I was also aided by a complete lack of anything other than my hands to carry it in during a rather lengthy walk, so I left it where I found it.

All of which are excuses, which are like bellybuttons, but mine own.

Cheers...
