A slow one...
Dec. 6th, 2007 09:04 pmThe day started with a fresh-out-of-bed trip to the store for fresh bread, so we could have buttered toast with coffee. I went back again in mid-morning for some carpet cleaning solution. It was that kind of day.
My best intentions to put in a solid day of translation went down the drain when I realized, with something of a "click" between my ears as I drifted off last night, that Galina will be headed back to Houston tomorrow. Which is not to say we spent the day sipping Mai Tais on the back patio (the outside air temperature was 24°F, or about -5°C), but at least there was more interaction than might otherwise have occurred.
Going back to Houston is not the happiest of continuations right now, but it's necessary. Someone wanted to rent the Webster house and to move in tomorrow, but there's too much junk still there that needs to be cleaned out. That job will fall to Galina.
Just a few minutes ago, I started in on the literature cited portion of the assignment due at the end of next week. My heart isn't really in it, but it requires little translation skill, and every little bit will help.
Cheers...

Date: 2007-12-07 02:08 am (UTC)Shopping list I put onto my fridge and we both (me & missus) add to it. Then we just tear it off when we go to the shop...
I still remember that fridge from that sci-fi movie: "You've got ½ pint of milk left. Order more milk?" - "Yes".

UPDATE: It occurs to me, in rereading this exchange, that you might be thinking we're both talking about forgetting to pick up the carpet solution when I went to get bread. Not so. I had forgotten the bread the night before, and the need for carpet cleaner onlt became apparent after giving in to a sudden (?) urge to do the dining room carpet.
