If I had stuck to my guns, I would have been finished with work until Natalie goes back to Houston (on Christmas Day, no less!). As it is, I've a hair less than 2,000 words left of the 6,000 I started with this morning.

I would have gotten more done, but around the time Natalie's plane was approaching JFK, I tuned into an interesting site that will allow you to track a flight using Google Earth. It was uncanny to see Natalie's flight approach New York from west-by-northwest, fly over midtown Manhattan, then over the airport, and then make a long, sweeping turn to the right, turning final to land from the southwest (on either 4L or 4R, the data update interval was too long for me to tell).

It's getting late, and I'm not going to make much more progress with the translation tonight.

Cheers...

Neat site! I checked it out for SFO, and found UAL1162 inbound over Monterey Bay. Sure enough, a quick trip out on the deck and I could see it as it approached Santa Cruz.

Another good site is Flight Aware (http://flightaware.com).
