I've been working with Shiloh, letting her off the leash for short periods and so far she's been good. However, about half an hour ago, I was too lazy to go get her leash, so I let her out without one, and this time, she started feeling her Cheerios and decided she liked being outside too much to come home.
I went inside to get a flashlight, and by the time I came back out, she was nowhere to be found.
After I post this, I will go back outside, but this dog is really starting to get under my skin.
Cheers...

Dogs really can figure some things out, even if they can't tell anyone what they are sensing. I don't think you give her enough credit for coping with as chaotic a life as you are presently expecting her to assimilate and automatically behave perfectly in . . . . . . . as it were.
Dogs are not computers, you know.

And as far as dogs not being computers, well... I say thank goodness for that! Why on earth would I want a dog otherwise? I've got scads of computers!
