I came home yesterday with milk, which made it possible for me to make cornbread as described on the bag of Martha White's corn meal that I picked up last Thursday. The result is a little dry, but edible. Next time, I'll have to remember to let the product cool completely before trying to pop it out of the baking container.

I tried my hand at making posole with only the vaguest idea of what goes inside. I cubed some pork, potatoes, and carrots and put the result in a slow-cooker, along with the contents of a package of chile seasoning and a medium-sized can of hominy corn. The overnight result was pretty simple, and darn good. It even bears some passing resemblance to posole.

I spent two days brainstorming something for this week's LJ Idol prompt, and as I started to write this week's entry, something else - completely different - popped into my head. Here's hoping I don't suffer from writer's remorse tomorrow...

My preferred translation memory tool, Wordfast, has a feature that allows the user to analyze prospective texts, comparing text segments with each other and more important, with segments that already exist in the translation memory. I am happy to say that I am not as concerned now about the prospect of 4,700 additional words dropping in from my best East Coast client as I was earlier in the day.

The day's bag, by the way, consists of 1350 source words from document A and 2209 words from document B. I can, and will, do better tomorrow.

Alles unter Kontrolle.

I hope.

Cheers...
