Letting the pedal back up...

It's been a nearly 6,000-word day, and am well and truly tired. That said, there are just over 11,000 words left in the current project, which is a lot better than staring at any larger number.
The replacement battery for my iPod Touch came in and, assuming (there's that word, again) that disassembly would be about as easy as it was for earlier iPods, I managed to tear the gossamer connector between the touch screen and the "motherboard" of the player. It looks like it will cost about $70 or so to repair the unit (and have the battery replaced, naturally). Seeing as how my unit (32 GB, 2nd gen) is going for over $100 on eBay, the repair alternative might not be so bad.
Aside from that minor little annoyance, the day's been pretty good. The wind has departed for parts east of here and, of course, there's the work!
Dinner calls.
Cheers...
