...but not, apparently, whether it's Tuesday or Wednesday.

It's been one of those days.

Actually, there's nothing to complain about. Feht came over around 11 am and we set off for Durango, just to see a bit of the outside world. While there, I managed to purchase a deeply discounted Brother laser printer/scanner/copier at the Office Depot and we ate a late lunch at a sushi joint called East by Southwest.

On the way to Durango, we passed two "construction sites"—complete with traffic signs—consisting of two people, standing about 100 yards apart, one on each side of the road, facing oncoming traffic with one of those signs that says STOP on one side and SLOW on the other.

There was, as far as I could tell, nobody else in the vicinity, no work going on, nothing, nada.

Just another marvelous day in paradise, I guess.

I got back in time to finish the assignment received yesterday, which was my first attempt at putting a translation memory tool called memoQ through its paces. There is, as yet, not enough data on which to formulate any definitive opinion, but LJ friend [livejournal.com profile] velvet_granat appeared to confirm that there really was no straightforward way to get the tool to deal intelligently with numbers (though apparently, the tool will convert decimal commas to decimal points if properly instructed). Then again, maybe I'm just thick.

The new printer apparently eats juice upon startup, to the point where it tripped the circuit breaker on my UPS. Making sure I hook it to a separate circuit ought not be a problem, but I'm now wondering: If it's a power hog on startup, how does it behave in standby mode?

There are ways of finding out.

I learned it was actually Tuesday on the way to Durango. It was pleasant to get a whole day back.

Cheers...
