I managed to finish the first pass through the long-delivery translation shortly before it was time to pick up the U-Haul from the storage place and empty the unit with all the house's furniture (and my books, which I plan to bring home a little at a time). Drew and Phil helped us move the heavy stuff, which left me free to attend to the start of the long despeckling process (the spell check is done, and disambiguation is about 30% done; the rest will get done tomorrow).

I took another break at 3 pm, because in addition to it being the last clicker-training session, I had gone home last Saturday wearing a training pouch that belonged to the Humane Society. Apropos of dog training, approval has been granted to do a second phase of training (as much, if not more, for the humans as for the dogs). This is due largely to the fact that you'd have to be willfully blind not to see the positive changes that ensued from the first phase (which included having something like 16 of 17 dogs go home with adoptive owners, with the 17th dog being a special-needs Catahoula that's stone deaf).

I'm having some strange connectivity problems after having upgraded my Ubuntu machine to the latest "Precise Pangolin" release. Basically, as soon as I start Firefox, the ability to use the wireless network connection goes out the window. I managed to find a setting where the program apparently tries to set up a proxy connection and changed the setting to "no proxy," but fetching data is still giving me a headache, even after having rebooted the machine. It's not a critical issue, but still bothersome.

This morning was another early start, so maybe now would be a good time to declare an early end to the day.

Cheers...
