A few minutes after hitting the sack last night, I thought I heard a car pull into the driveway. I got up and opened the door.

Nothing.

I went back to bed.

Two minutes later, a car pulled into the driveway, and a moment afterward, Lee opened the front door. Sasha, the Dog Who Will Chew Anything, raced through the house and finally jumped into my bed.

'twas a happy reunion (that concern I mentioned yesterday must have taken root and mutated by the time I retired). I fell asleep to the sound of the shower running; doubtless Natalie washing off the grime (physical and psychological) accumulated over the 1100-mile trek.

I wonder if what I experienced was some form of ESP? No matter.

I celebrated by sleeping in a bit (no harm done, seeing as my start time at the MCC is 9 am now, instead of 8 am), then washed some dishes once I did get up. (Do I pick some strange ways to celebrate, or what?)

In to work after a brief stop at the Post Office to send in some paperwork to TPTB in Denver (unemployment forms), and then on to the 6 radiograms left undone yesterday.

<BORING-DISCLAIMER>

Two, it turns out, are of the variety that I don't do anyway (lists of numbers, basically). That's two down, four to go. Two others were duplicates of one another. The four became three.

Two of the three, having to do with Earth ocean observations and photography, are done when the radiograms for today come pouring into the RPE's e-mail one after the other. When the dust clears, there are seven new radiograms...until I take a closer look.

Four appear to be duplicates of radiograms sent yesterday...but the key word there is "appear." They must be checked for minor revisions. My review shows that the first has minor changes. Two more are, indeed, identical. The last, too, has minor deltas. I make the changes and explain what the heck is going on to the RPE (more for my own benefit than for his, necessarily).

That leaves three new radiograms and one left to do from yesterday (not to mention making sure the results of all this are properly moved to the appropriate network subdirectories). Yikes.

No biggie. I've faced worse.

Cheers...
