An interpreter acquaintance of mine, Vladimir V. from New York, when asked once how life was going, replied: "It's not a life, it's a timeline." Very apropos for the NASA environment.

I can't say what I've been doing for the past ten days is a timeline (timelines, though very intense, are at least not chaotic, but I digress...). In any event, Outl(ugh)k has just finished sending the translated file back to my client, so I can go to sleep in peace and dream the dreams of the... person who gets to open the store tomorrow.

I'm whining, I know. (Hey! It's my journal!)

I'll get over it.

I received an article from an old client of mine at the Smithsonian. It looks like work may be coming from that direction again. The last time, in 1995, I learned about the fascinating life of people on the Yamal peninsula. (I am not being sarcastic.) Actually, the work made me kind of want to go visit the place, though I'm sure I've got a thoroughly romantic version of the region that's a cross between Robert Service's Yukon and I-don't-know-what-else.

I'm babbling... so overly tired, I'll probably lie awake for a while if I lie down.

Gotta go try, though.

Cheers...

That's what I feel like, about now. It's the last hour of the day, and I cannot wait to get home and do something... grandiose.

Like go to sleep.

Drew had arranged for a tee time of 8:20 this morning with John, and I had expected him to figure out that I was not in the best of all possible shapes after going short in the sleep department again for the past several days. This, however, was not to be the case, so I ended up doing the store today - all day. Or at least it will be all day in... 37 minutes.

About the only productive thing I've done is order three computers from Dell, for the store. I've been talking about it and talking about it, and if I don't do something, someone else will come along and snag the business. If nothing else, it will be a novelty to put up a sign in the store window that advertises Internet access.

At worst, Galina will kill me, which at this juncture, doesn't seem so bad an alternative to what I've been doing the past few days.

Cheers...
