From The Register:

Ross Anderson of Cambridge University has published a lengthy and informative paper/FAQ on Palladium, the Trusted Computing Platform Alliance (TCPA), their relationship and their implications.

[...]

He concludes: "TCPA and Palladium do not so much provide security for the user, but for the PC vendor, the software supplier, and the content industry. They do not add value for the user. Rather, they destroy it, by constraining what you can do with your PC - in order to enable application and service vendors to extract more money from you."
Anderson's FAQ is enlightening. Read it.

Well, the folks who are all-fired anxious to have the report I translated today on their desk on Monday morning are not going to be happy campers at all. The file I received starts out okay, but somewhere about halfway through, it looks like someone forgot to update the stuff from the last flight, so about half the document is a waste of space (but I translated it anyway).

I even managed to put away five more pages of the nuclear job, putting me well and truly onto the home stretch for that monster. The day's take looks to be just over 6300 words.

Feht invited me over to his house for the World Cup final. He intends to watch it live, which means planting himself in front of his television at around 4:30 am. Me, I don't think I'll have the time to drive out there, watch the game and drive back... not and get enough work done tomorrow.

Among other things, I've also got to update the scales in the store and make sure I get everyone up to speed on the new postal rates that go into effect as of tomorrow. I also want to write a Perl script that will take the info we scan from dropped off UPS packages and create a report that can be sent off for credit.

I am well and truly tired. Time to go off and do something else.

Cheers...
