Working the plan...
Jan. 7th, 2003 07:22 pmIt would have been real nice to have had a humidifier going last night. The dry air really played havoc with my throat, and I tossed and turned, trying to mold the blanket around my mouth in a vain attempt to create an pocket that would capture some exhaled moisture that I could then inhale with my next breath. The trick in doing this is to create a pocket that's small enough to retain some exhaled moisture, but not so small as to make you feel that you're breathing through a piece of textile, with your face alternatively going hot and cold as you exhale and inhale.
After a while, I gave up turning off the light in the room, seeing as how I was getting up quite often to do one thing or another.
I managed to get to the store this morning for the sole purpose of doing the report, after which I made some deposits (besides the store receipts, one check that was 28 days past due from a translation client). After the bank, I played with the idea of going downtown to the sheriff's office to renew my Search & Rescue identification, but decided against it.
I renewed my efforts on the rush job this morning and found that my primary enemy today was not a runny nose, or a cough, or an achy jaw... it was simple fatigue. I took a nap around 1 pm and got up at 3 to finish the job and send it off a few minutes short of 5 (it was due tomorrow morning).
Then I took a look at the next item on the list, which is due Thursday. I'll start on it tomorrow morning, after I get back from the store.
Reminder to self: Invoices!
Cheers...
