Long/short day...

The day in the shop was pretty long, even if it was a short day. Drew took off somewhere around 1 pm to go prepare for today's birthday party. (Even though it is Shannon's birthday, my understanding is that the party was for the both of them.) I stopped by after closing the shop, but only for a minute, as I was feeling pretty tuckered out.

Not only that, but I had been under the impression that the party was going to be tomorrow, so a while ago I confirmed a dinner engagement for tonight with Jack and Carol M., who live across the "valley," and dinner was scheduled to start at 6 pm.

Now, it's not often that Galina and I get to go out, and although I suppose I should have begged off the dinner so that both of us could go together, I was feeling a little hungry for the company of someone other than Drew, Shannon, and Huntur - at least for one evening - and seeing as how this dinner had been in the planning stages for several weeks (and the fact that both Jack and Carol are fascinating conversationalists), I figure we can all get together again once Galina gets back into town.

(The dinner, by the way, was fabulous. I will feel hard-pressed to be able to reciprocate in like fashion, but hey... that's life! And strive we must, etc...)

* * *Upon returning home, I fed the dogs and sat down to see if I couldn't make use of some software that I bought for a project a couple of years ago, and then promptly forgot about. It's called MindJet, and is a whiz at creating so-called "mind maps." My intent in using it was to make the structure of my SpringsboardWiki site a bit more intelligible to newcomers. (Unfortunately, time is limited, so although I've implemented the new site map, the words to explain things further are still lacking. However, a bit at a time, etc...)

Anyway, it's getting late and tomorrow is going to be clean-up day. Galina will be home soon (and the place needs a good cleaning, anyway!)
