Just making sure the VAIO has all of the files I need for the trip. Leaving without one of the translations or my presentation would certifiably be a Bad Thing™.

I'm packed (and thus, made aware of the paucity of my wardrobe). Now to shut down this machine, make sure I pack it away properly (can you say "power supply," Alex PGP? I knew you could!), load the stuff in the car and I'm off!

The sun is just coming up, which is a certifiably Good Thing™ (although if that were not to happen, we'd either be in a Larry Niven story, or nobody's much care, as there wouldn't be anybody left, but I digress...).

Enough babbling. Off to Phoenix!

Cheers...

No, not the excellent movie starring the late Peter Sellers, but me, at the ATA conference.

The trip took just over 9 hours, made somewhat longer by having to pull over to the side of the Interstate to take a call from a client. It was a nice break, at any rate.

The room is in a hotel that appears to be actually within walking distance of the conference hotel. However, tonight I will not be proving that one way or the other, as I simply don't feel like it. The opening reception is in a few minutes, and I and Nora F. and Lydia R. will be out in the lobby a bit in advance to welcome new Division members.

In the few minutes of chatting that took place after I picked up my badge, it is apparent that the new continuing education requirement is going to be one hot potato during tomorrow's discussions. Myself, I may just stay in the room to finish the two assignments I brought with me.

There's a line to use the machines at this booth - dubbed a CyberCafé - so I'm off to welcome newbies and circulate among the reception participants.

Cheers...
