Not much to say about the day, as I didn't get much done past going to the store and working there. I tried to go home and work, but only managed to eat lunch and nap for 15 minutes before the phone rang, with Galina on the other end. My cell phone rang while I was talking to Galina... it was that kind of day.

I did pick up Huntur from her school and went through the id process they have in place to keep idle strangers from picking kids up. Funny thing, as soon as she saw me, Huntur started to bawl; I'm told she does this with Shannon, too. I guess she is so happy to see a familiar face that she overreacts and starts to cry.

Once I delivered Huntur back to the store, I delegated Drew as store closer, Shannon took Huntur home, and I decided to walk home, as I need the exercise. Overall, I logged 17,400 steps on the pedometer for the day. (Yes, I know, exciting news, but I swear I reset the thing daily!)

My curiosity regarding the burning of fat by my organism was satisfied this morning when I used one of the ketone-detecting strips. It turned a satisfying dark color almost immediately. In other particulars, the Induction goes well, although I do catch myself looking at, for example, a packet of chocolate and raspberry cocoa mix (26 g of carbs, which is too much for this phase of the diet). However, past diets have involved much more... compelling temptations, and the prospect of actually losing weight is keeping my spirits up.

After dinner tonight, I watched an Italian film Bread and Tulips, about a clutzy wife who manages to get left behind during a tour bus stop and who, in hitchiking back home, manages to end up in Venice, where she ends up getting a job at a florist and sleeping in the spare bedroom of a morose waiter that she meets. The plot thickens when her husband, who's too cheap to hire a real detective, sends a plumber who loves detective stories to Venice to find her. It's hard to classify the film: it's not exactly a comedy, nor a romance, nor a serious drama. However, it is a very pleasant film to have watched.

Cheers...
