The other day, I had complained about a problem with the crm spam filter. It had simply stopped working on onegin. I went back to using SpamAssassin, which had lost some of its edge in filtering out the drek that clogs my inboxes.

One of the things I am learning to look for when programs that used to work under Linux stop working suddenly is to see if the program deals with a file that has grown to 51 MB. Initially, it didn't occur to me to look for any such file in the crm directory, but when I finally got around to doing so, there it was: a file of the requisite (over)size. After making sure it really wasn't something essential, I deleted it.

The crm program works fine, now, and is giving SpamAssassin less and less of an opportunity to catch stuff. I expect tomorrow I'll be able to comment out the recipe in my .procmailrc file that runs SpamAssassin and rely exclusively on crm.

After playing the role of slugabed this morning, reading the Cussler book, I got dressed and turned to cleaning the garage. I had cleared out an area there upon my return from Houston, barely big enough to park the Honda and get out, but that was starting to get a little old. Not to mention the Civic was full of stuff that I wanted to unload and store in the garage.

The hall bathroom was next, although there was hardly anything to do (I have yet to buy replacement light bulbs; there's only one 40-W bulb left working).

The kitchen is a work in progress. I don't know how far I'll get with it since I have to leave in about 30 minutes for dinner at Mike and Karen's.

Drew called around noon to let me know he, Shannon, and Huntur were leaving for home. Galina called early this morning but I missed the call (the phone in the bedroom doesn't work); nevertheless, it was good to hear from her. I was starting to feel itchy, not having heard from her since her call from the car rental place what seems like forever ago.

Time to go back upstairs and wash a couple more dishes.

Cheers...
