What a difference!
Nov. 15th, 2004 01:49 pmI've gotten so used to a rather laid-back pace this past month that today was something of a shock to me.
I was in the store shortly after 8:00 am. Drew came by with Huntur and we practiced counting with Huntur while Drew went to buy her lunch at the City Market. In between customers, I invoiced the two jobs I did recently, and ended up declining a 2500 source word job that was due for 8 pm tonight.
In the meantime, my main Houston client calls and wants to know if I can travel today!
I check my busy calendar of appointments and conclude that -- depsite the shortfall of labor at the store -- the echoing void that is my checking account makes this a no-brainer. It's another hour or two, however, before everything falls into place. At any rate, I'm on a United flight out of Durango this afternoon, headed for IAH. I'll be parking the car at the Durango long-term parking area, since the local cab service charges $110 for a one-way ride to the airport.
So what am I doing posting to my LJ? I need to pack and get on the road (ugh!) in roughly 40 minutes! Yikes!
Cheers...
