Maintenance...
Dec. 10th, 2005 03:24 amA casual conversation the other day has me looking at the Wordfast site. Apparently, there is a new - at least to me - policy regarding upgrades that my morning relief had run into, which caused a rift so intense that my relief started using TRADOS, which he says he likes much better.
I had been under the assumption that Wordfast upgrades to new versions were free for an unlimited time, but looking at the site now shows that free upgrades are limited to three years from purchase. (It's fortunate that I talk so much about work here, since by looking at old posts, I was able to quickly bracket the purchase of my copy of Wordfast to August 2003, which places me safely within the 3-year limit.)
To be safe, however, I backed up all of my version 4.22 files before upgrading to 5.16, the process of which seems to have gone well so far. In looking over the documentation, it would appear that I really am not using the software to its full capability.
Cheers...
