I got a load of drawings in the mail yesterday, after taking a look at a "representative sample" and agreeing to a deadline of tomorrow. It turns out that the sample was perhaps the simplest of all the drawings, which were heavily laden with legend tables and title blocks. On the other hand the fact that a number of the drawings were very similar in layout and content worked in my favor, both in terms of time invested in the project and the future payday.

The only thing that bothered me about the job was receiving the drawings in the form of WMF files, which were generally the object of a major recent Windows security brouhaha. In addition, such files turn out to be miserable to edit, especially the way they were created (depicted at 100%, the image is thumbnail sized). I managed to key the figures, though, so after Galina leaves tomorrow for her real estate continuing education class, I should not have too much trouble checking the work and sending it off.

Speaking of Galina, she took Natalie to the airport today, and right about now, Natalie ought to be about halfway to Europe. In related news, I've found out that my next Kazakhstan gig might come up sooner than I think, so I should start planning for it now.

Cheers...
