Simple arithmetic dictates that translating 3500 words per day will "eat up" the current document in 5 days. I am currently 500 words past today's goal, waiting for Galina to return from the store. Fortune has smiled upon me: the subject of the document is computer networking, a subject I am very comfortable with. (Indeed, perhaps too comfortable with, as I have had to reign in my tendency to correct all but the most egregious errors in the original text.)

After giving the idea some more thought, it occurs to me that the scope of the "move" being contemplated by Galina - something along the lines of pulling up stakes in preparation for wintering down South - will best be accomplished if we depart from here next Saturday. That will mean missing Huntür's official birthday party on Sunday, but I get the feeling the tyke will not overly miss her stick-in-the-mud grandma and "papa" during that party, if her recent behavior has been any indication (not a complaint, just an observation). In any event, even if I'm wrong, there's not much that can be done, except to cut the departure timeline to where it has zero slack and probably negative margin for things like unpacking the truck, returning it, etc.

Back to translating. I hope we're still on for tonight's meal at Williams Creek.

I've noticed, while measuring my blood pressure in the mornings before taking my meds, that my "ambient" pressure is down: where it'd have been already nearing 140/90 in the morning a few months ago, it's been hovering around 125/82 in the morning lately.

This is due, in my humble opinion, to my recent need to have to bicycle everywhere I go, and what amazes me is that I'm not really putting in a lot of exercise: a typical trip to the store takes less than 20 minutes, and my total exercise for a day will mostly consist of a one-way trip; sometimes two.

As a consequence of the lower "ambient" BP, I've taken the initiative to reduce the dosage of my meds, and for the second day, my "mid-afternoon" pressure has been a nice, steady 113/70.

Cheers...
