Swung at and missed...
Dec. 29th, 2006 09:10 pmListening to all the reports from north and south of here (especially from New Mexico), I find it amazing we merely got off with an almost-dusting of snow earlier in the morning, with the principal meteorological bugaboo of the day being fog.
I took the opportunity to drive out to Feht's for an early dinner and some conversation, which was enjoyable as always. We discussed the state of the world, and partook of some foie gras and red caviar, followed by lamb. We traded news, with his being a vacation in Guadeloupe early next year. (Yes, the wheels started turning.)
Otherwise, an unremarkable day. The weather news is making us think that New Year's on the road (i.e., leaving for Houston on Sunday) is perhaps not such a bad thing, after all. One thing is for sure: we didn't do a lick of packing today.
Cheers...
