Still no snow...
Dec. 28th, 2006 03:07 pmThese posts might give the casual reader the impression that my comings and goings here are dictated exclusively by the weather, which is not quite the case. The threat of snow is enough to keep me from wandering far, but the only destination of interest where snow is of paramount interest is Feht's place, which is about 11 miles down a county road that is unpaved and still has snow on it. (Frankly, I'm not sure the van would make it even without any additional snowfall.)
Today marks Galina's and my 30th wedding anniversary. Besides flowers and chocolates given this morning (other goodies having been exchanged during our cruise), I've got a nice bottle of champagne cooling in the fridge. Shannon had invited us over to her and Drew's place for dinner tonight, but then called and said she couldn't handle the hassle of looking after a flock of kids (including her own) and cooking dinner.
We commiserated briefly on Life With Kids™, and then countered by offering to bring over some takeout from Ramon's, which was accepted, so we're still on for dinner, around 6-ish. Drew won't be back from work by then (I'm told the UPS drivers are working overtime this week to deliver all the stuff that had been delayed in Denver during last week'ы storm), but we'll get him something, too.
I've only been able to deal with 2-3 boxes of books these past couple of days. I'm going to see if I can break that barrier today.
Cheers...
