What is translation? Upon a platter,
A poet's pale and gleaming head,
A parrot's screech, a monkey's chatter,
And profanation of the dead.
    - V. Nabokov

I actually managed to get some more sleep when I hit the sack again last night, so the shift hasn't been too hard, from the resist-the-sandman point of view. Aside from the usual yawning that occurs just about everywhere at 5 am, I feel pretty chipper.

The translation plate is nearly empty (a short 400-word item is due Monday), and I've still got two days worth of MCC work over the weekend (but during the day, thank goodness).

Assuming I arrive in London on Tuesday morning, that means I'll likely have most of the day to myself (unless the client wants to get together and bond the night before the meeting starts on Wednesday morning). I just hit the web site for the National Gallery, and it would appear they have at least two exhibitions that might interest me (one featuring landscapes by Renoir, the other is titled "Manet to Picasso").

Something to think about.

Cheers...
