A sleepy day...
May. 27th, 2007 10:40 pmAfter a full night's sleep, I still managed to doze off early in the morning and then again in the afternoon, not getting much else done during the day.
Galina and I visited the Pearland flea market, where I was actutely aware of people selling puppies. The going price seems to be $200 to $250, which is pretty amazing, all things considered, because as far as I can tell, all you get is a dog, whereas when the spaniel rescue group collects its fee of $200, you acquire a dog that's had all its shots, been microchipped, and which basically has a clean bill of health (indeed, the Harris County animal shelter provides essentially the same service for $85, if memory serves).
I chased some paper, then sat down with Galina to watch The Good German, which tried real hard but failed to deliver, in my opinion. I am also beginning to tire of plots in which our side are the scheming, miserable bad guys (the Russians come off as somewhat impulsive, but basically keep-to-themselves kinds of folk).
I need to be out the door tomorrow no later than 7 am or so, and likely Galina will have to drop me off at JSC if she wants to have the car at all.
Another glorious week in paradise.
Cheers...
