Friday bustin' out all over...
Jun. 1st, 2007 05:45 pmToday's stint at the MCC went well, capped off with a fairly long discussion of what's called the "pressure profile" aboard the ISS during and after the docked phase of flight 13A (coming up in the near future). It was an interesting interaction, and I learned a lot about how the pressure of the atmosphere aboard the station - and how the ratio of nitrogen, oxygen, and other components - must (like the temperature of Baby Bear's porridge) be not too high, and not too low, but just right to support all of the activities planned over the near term, past the 13A time frame and extending to the next EVA.
Upon coming home, I answered a voice mail regarding simultaneous work (not my preferred mode, as it is quite exhausting) and then found an email - from the same client - for a prospective translation job. By the time I responded (about 2 minutes for the download and another 2 minutes to evaluate and formulate a reply), it would appear that the sender had gone home. There is a chance I'll get the job, but I'm not holding my breath.
Speaking of holding my breath, I accepted an assignment earlier today that puts me right back in the MSR in just... under four hours. I need to take a power nap/sleep.
Cheers...
