A sideways announcement...
Jun. 23rd, 2007 10:18 pmI arrived a little early at the pound to pick up Shiloh, which probably helped, but I still got to stand in line. The family in front of me had selected a black labrador as their pet and their little girl was just effusive with her endearments and caresses. I hope it doesn't wear off with time.
It started to rain on the way up to the pound and all during the trip back. The first thing we did upon arriving home was visit the back yard. It was an excellent idea, as after only a few seconds or running in the grass, Shiloh, um, made her mark. As it turned out, it was one of the few times during her excursion in the back yard where she actually stood still, allowing me to take this shot:

Our neighbor's chihuahua has an overly inflated ego and considers herself mistress of anything that moves in the three yards she can see from her vantage point about 8 inches off the ground. When she spied Shiloh, she started yapping for real. Shiloh's reaction:

The "crate" I bought for the dog already looks small. I am beginning to wonder about the 25-pound size estimate.
A good day.
Cheers...
