Shiloh had been raising a ruckus at 5 am the past few days, which I interpreted as her way of indicating that she needed to go relieve herself, and would someone please come and let her out of her crate? ("Crate" being a euphemism for "cage," which have come into widespread use, especially for house training of dogs.) The same things seemed to happen last night, except when I checked the time after letting the dog out to do her business, it turned out the time was 2:48 am.

Shiloh spent the rest of the night in my room, and she was pretty quiet about it all. For my part, I had forgotten to actually "arm" my cell phone alarm to go off at 6:30 am, so when I awoke more or less refreshed with too much light coming in through the shades, my heart was gripped by the first tendrils of the knowledge that something was terribly wrong.

It was, but not so terribly. It was 7:12 am, and I had 18 minutes to get out of the house, and another half hour to get to where I needed to be for the crew training assignment, including the walk from the security gate to Building 9 (which is long enough as it is, but seems longer when it's raining steadily).

Dig it: Being late for any assignment is pretty bad; being late for an assignment involving crew is the absolute pits, as it wins you no friends and degrades your ability to influence people.

In the end, I made it to where I needed to be. One thing that helped was taking a breather right next to Building 4S, during which I checked the time (getting close) and my assignment sheet for the... waitasecond... I'm not supposed to be in Building 9, but... in Building 4S!

O, happy day!

Anyway, the session is over and I'm on my own until 2pm. Since I finished with crew training, I've corrected an error found in yesterday's translation and picked up an extra hour of support from 3 pm to 4 pm today.

Right now, I need to go find an outlet for my charger. Then maybe relax for a little bit. It's been a stressful morning.

Cheers...
