Working space stuff...
Sep. 18th, 2007 09:01 pmI was fortunate enough to "fill my dance card" for the week with a couple of assignments at JSC today, consisting of a sim and a few hours at space-to-ground. It was nowhere near as stressful as the job up in Katy, to which I return tomorrow, for the rest of the week.
Fortunately, I am not the only interpreter working the meeting in Katy. My partner is a woman named Marina, an experienced professional who is very pleasant to work with. She is apparently a full-time employee of my client for this job.
The same client is pushing hard for me to interpret for dinners for four consecutive nights next week, for a separate job. In principle, I have no objection, and I'm sure my bank account will be fully supportive of my efforts to keep it from, er, croaking, if only for show.
I also received two documents for translation, due next month (which may sound like a long time from now, but isn't really). All in all, the state of the plate is: "heavily laden."
Somewhere in between all of that, or afterward, I need to find some time to do absolutely nothing at all. (I am so looking forward to this weekend!)
Looks like I'll be hitting the sack early for a third night in a row.
Cheers...
