Glide path...
Oct. 28th, 2008 10:23 pmThe Ukrainians set off for the airport at around 4:15 pm, and with Dulles just down the road, I'm sure they made their flight with no problem. I decided against renting a car for one day, figuring there was no place I really wanted to go, so I stayed in, ate some leftovers, and watched NCIS and The Mentalist, which continues to impress me (though not to the point where I'm likely to go excessively out of my way to watch it).
During commercials, I've been systematically going through all of the stuff piled on my desk, with the idea of eventually fitting it all into my luggage for tomorrow's trip home.
The Kazakhstan campaign is pretty much a "go," except there remains the small detail of launching the satellite of the campaign currently in-country. The start date has moved since I was first approached to work this gig, which may mean that I will spend my birthday in Kazakhstan. We'll see.
For the sake of nostalgia, I bought the first episode of the Man from U.N.C.L.E., which turns out to have some kind of glitch at 16:38 into the playback, causing the screen of my Touch to turn green. By stopping and restarting the playback, the picture comes back, a few seconds later in the show, but the glitch is annoying. What is equally annoying is the thought that I once thought this show was pretty cool (though granted, I was young). Then again, it is interesting to try to figure out the mindset of the time.
Time to hit the sack.
Cheers...
