Saturday adventures...
Aug. 29th, 2009 08:35 pmAlla sent along two CDs of photos so I could see what the ladies were up to during Galina's trip. But when I inserted the first of the CDs in my Vista laptop this morning, only one file (destop.ini) was displayed in Explorer. This, despite the fact that otherwise, the disk was very nearly full. The same thing happened when I reviewed the second CD.
When I tried this on my XP work machine, the files - which contained Cyrillic characters - showed up without a problem.
Nice design, Vista engineers.
It was a good thing I took a nap this afternoon, as we had invited the kids and grandkids over for dinner (and the grandkids to spend the night). Dinner consisted of shrimp and red caviar appetizers, cream of mushroom soup, a semi-Greek salad, beef stroganoff, and vanilla ice cream.
The kids are gone, the grandkids are running off the ice cream, and I need to get off the computer.
Cheers...
