...except that I still have about... two (?) hours of cleaning/loading to do.

The snow appears to have taken a break, and I could learn nothing of importance from various sites I visited yesterday about road conditions along 84 (though I plan to call Drew in a few minutes to get a report on conditions yesterday as far down the road as Chromo).

I'm debating with myself whether to take the usual (and shortest) route, via I-40 to Amarillo, or to continue on past Clines Corners and the intersection with I-40 down south, intending to travel as far away from the snow as possible and head for Fort Stockton.

I've got a few hours before I have to commit, so it should be an interesting pastime while I clean and load.

Cheers...

I didn't see any precipitation today until I hit Tierra Amarilla, which is about 65 miles down the road from Pagosa, and the snow stayed in the air until just north of Santa Fe, when things appeared to clear up.

The snow returned while driving south on 285 between I-25 and I-40, and it got even worse as I passed Clines Corners at the intersection of 285 and I-40 and headed south, to Vaughn and Roswell. The conditions got so bad after Vaughn that the roads were actually covered in a thin layer of packed snow. I joined a caravan of vehicles trailing after a pair of NMDOT snowplow trucks as they headed south toward Roswell.

It has been a long day. Time to hit the sack.

Cheers...
